Whether for heating control, environmental monitoring or smart energy management, electronic systems in HVAC and environmental technology must operate reliably under demanding conditions. With SOLID-BOX, OKW offers a rugged, high-quality enclosure designed to protect sensitive electronics in both indoor and sheltered outdoor applications.

The two-part enclosure range is available in three sizes: 135 × 115 × 50 mm, 180 × 145 × 60 mm and 225 × 175 × 70 mm (L × W × H). These dimensions make it ideal for applications such as heating, air-conditioning and ventilation controls, data loggers for monitoring temperature, humidity or CO₂ levels, and devices used in environmental, energy and water management. A consistent design across the entire product family enables the development of visually harmonised product ranges.

For applications in technically demanding environments, SOLID-BOX provides a high level of protection for sensitive electronics. Its sealed interior achieves IP66/IP67 protection, safeguarding components against moisture, dust and dirt. The robust construction also offers enhanced resistance to impact and shock loads in accordance with IK08. Manufactured from flame-retardant PC+ABS-FR material to UL 94 V-0, the enclosure combines durability with improved heat resistance.

The enclosure has been designed to facilitate the integration of operating and connection components. A recessed area in the lid accommodates membrane keypads and decorative foils, while two recessed sections in the base provide protected space for interfaces and cable entries. Internal mounting pillars support the secure installation of PCBs, DIN rails and mounting plates, enabling flexible system integration.

Separate mounting channels are available for wall mounting. Once installed, both these channels and the enclosure screws, which are positioned outside the sealed interior, are concealed by snap-on decorative panels. Combined with the enclosure’s high-gloss polished surface, this creates an exceptionally high-quality appearance, rarely found in industrial enclosures. For desktop applications, matching non-slip feet are also available as accessories.

Further accessories, including a lid lock, hinge set and a range of cable glands, enable the enclosure to be adapted to diverse installation and operating requirements. For bespoke solutions, OKW’s in-house service centre also offers a comprehensive range of value-added services, including machining, printing, laser marking, EMC aluminium coating, decorative foils and assembly.
