Joint exhibition stand at the SPS in Nuremberg

OKW Gehäusesysteme and ROLEC Gehäuse-Systeme participated together for the first time at the international SPS trade fair in Nuremberg. The focus was on the entire spectrum of smart and digital automation – from simple sensors to intelligent solutions for the digitised industry. Visitors were able to visit the joint exhibition stand for three days, from 26.11. to 28.11.

For its 30th anniversary, the trade fair, formerly known as SPS IPC Drives, took place this year with a new title: SPS – Smart Production Solutions. At the joint stand, trade visitors were able to obtain information about the wide range of products for enclosures. OKW Gehäusesysteme offered a wide range of plastic enclosures suitable for the automation sector. These included the robust EVOTEC, the elegant NET-BOX central control unit, the innovative INTERFACE-TERMINAL or also the SMART-TERMINAL aluminium enclosure. The highlights were two new enclosure ranges: SMART-CONTROL, the first enclosure for easy installation in standard room corners. In addition, this enclosure range can be used both on the wall and on the desk at an ergonomically inclined angle. The EASYTEC flanged enclosure has been optimally designed for the integration of smart sensors for the IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) and the IoT. The ROLEC Gehäuse-Systeme exhibition team presented various industrial design enclosures made of aluminium, stainless steel, ABS, polyester and ASA+PC.

The team of experts was available for the entire duration of the exhibition to provide visitors with help and advice. The joint stand was well attended, and some new national and international contacts were also made through intensive consultations. More than 1500 exhibitors, 548 of them from abroad, presented products, innovations, solutions and trends in the industry in 17 exhibition halls on an exhibition area of 135,500 m². The range of services was supplemented by a professional support programme at the trade fair forums. A total of 63,708 trade visitors attended the fair.

CONNECT - special wall suspension element for storing enclosures

A special holder for the CONNECT is now available for wall mounting. The enclosure range consists of 3 different sizes, in the colours off-white and black, which differ only in length. With these holders, the equipment can be stored securely and easily after use. A cutout on the underside of the new accessory makes it easy to store wired devices.

EASYTEC - Flanged enclosures for the IIoT and smart sensor applications

The basis of the IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) and the IoT is to make things smarter by making them communicate with each other. The focus here is on sensors which are embedded in the devices and which constantly gather and centrally deliver data concerning machinery and special work scenarios or data about the entire value-added chain. The new EASYTEC wall-mounted enclosure series was developed specially for these modern sensor applications.

STYLE-CASE holder for sizes S and M

In addition to the holder already available for the STYLE-CASE "L", it is now also available for the sizes "S" and "M". As an optional accessory, it can be used to store the enclosures securely. The holder can be screwed to the wall easily and quickly using 2 pre-formed oblong holes. For substrates such as furniture, for example, which would be damaged by drilling, a suitable adhesive film is offered as an alternative. The holders are available in black, RAL 9005, and traffic white, RAL 9016, to match the enclosure colours.

STYLE-CASE - new version without battery compartment

A further version of the highly polished STYLE-CASE housing series is now available in the size "L". Up to now, all enclosures were only available with a battery compartment fitted. The STYLE-CASE "L" is now also available in the colour traffic white without a battery compartment. The areas of application include all kinds of remote controls, including those used in medical technology and in many areas of industry.

EVOTEC - Extension of the family of enclosures

The robust EVOTEC family of enclosures has been extended by a further size. Two versions are available, with a high top part and a flat top part. The enclosures are in the colour off-white, RAL 9002, and have the following dimensions: 80 x 50 x 22 mm and 80 x 50 x 26 mm. The EVOTEC range of enclosures offers ideal conditions for harsh working environments thanks to its robust design and the advantage of an optional seal (for protection class IP 65).

SMART-CONTROL - The enclosure for the corner

The new SMART-CONTROL by OKW Gehäusesysteme is the first enclosure for easy installation in standard room corners. As a rule, the equipment is placed as high up on the ceiling as possible; this position is ideal for wide-area room monitoring, saves space and protects the equipment from damage. In addition, this enclosure range can be used both on the wall and on the desk at an ergonomically inclined angle.

The plastic enclosures are available in 2 sizes: 142 x 81 x 46 mm / 173 x 101 x 59 mm (each in H x W x D). The SMART-CONTROL is available from stock in the flame-resistant material ASA+PC-FR (UL 94 V-0) with high UV protection, in the colour RAL 9002 (off-white).

The OKW Trainee Welcome Day - For a successful start to professional life

On 02.09.2019, a new phase began in the lives of our new trainees and students: they began their own vocational training.
Vocational training poses a new challenge for them in their lives to date. They have to stand on their own two feet, they earn their first money and can actively contribute their skills and ideas.

For a successful start into this new phase of their lives, OKW organised a Trainee Welcome Day on 10.09.2019, and 16 trainees from the OKW Group took part.

Individual laser marking

OKW Gehäusesysteme now also offers laser marking for numerous plastic enclosures and components from the standard range. It is ideal for individual labelling, identifying or marking.

In particular, very small machine-readable markings, e.g. QR codes, barcodes, consecutive numbering of individual parts and individual texts, can be carried out quickly and easily with laser marking.

Suitable materials are: ABS, ASA+PC, ASA+PC-FR, PC, PA, PA GF as well as aluminium.
The colours off-white, pebble grey, light grey, lava and black are suitable for particularly high-contrast marking - depending on the material.

Laser marking involves a colour change on the surface. Dark and light plastics turn grey at the points to be marked. Simply ask our experts. We shall be pleased to advise you!
