History

OKW cases have been developed and manufactured in Buchen since 1951 - four years after the firm's foundation by Dr. Herbert Schneider. The business started with the manufacture of tuning knobs and radio cases. Then the first standard case for the electrical industry joined in, the so-called flat-pack case. A special asset of OKW are modifications according to customers' requirements, like drilling, milling, printing, lacquering etc.

Guided by the slogan "To Each His Own Housing", the number of types and versions offered had risen to several hundreds by 1984. This was a good reason to start distributing these standard cases through the Odenwälder Kunststoffwerke Gehäusesysteme which was from now on legally independent.

Today, the export share of the total turnover amounts to more than 50% of cases. Due to the foundation of independent branches and to the cooperation with own reliable and competent sales partners in France, United KingdomU.S.A.Switzerland, Czech. Republic, Korea and Brazil, immediate service and attention can be safeguarded where it is necessary.
For the competent support and consulting of our German customers we founded an independent sales company ORCA Gehäusetechnik GmbH on 01.01.2001. Your personal contact in Eastern Germany is OKW Kunststofftechnik.
The aim of the future will always be to preserve and manage the company as family-owned enterprise. Together with Mr Christoph Schneider, the company has already entered the third generation.
